
China Mobile Ltd., the listed subsidiary of China Mobile Corp has reported a 26 percent jump in 3rd quarter earnings CNY 27.74 billion (US$4.06 billion), versus CNY 21.97 billion (US$3.2 billion) a year earlier. The company also reported a drop in ARPU partly due to the slow-down in businesses during the Olympics in Beijing as well as a push into lower spending rural markets.
The company ended the period with 436.1 million subscribers - a rise of 66.78 million over the past nine months.
Total voice usage volume increased by 37.0% compared to the same period of last year. Value-added business also continued its rapid growth and Short Messaging Service usage volume increased by 23.1% compared to the same period of last year.
