Leadcom Integrated Solutions says that it has signed new contracts with two customers in India. Leadcom will assume turnkey responsibility for the construction of over 300 sites across the National Capital Region for an unnamed, but existing customer. The contract is valued at over $9 million, and most of the revenues from the project are expected to be recognized during 2008
The second contract is with a new GSM operator in India. This operator has already acquired frequencies for five major circles in India and plans to expand its activity throughout India. Leadcom has received a first order for network planning in the Orissa and Karnataka regions, each region for over 5000 sites. This first order is valued at over $1 million.
Ilan Menahem, Leadcom APAC General Manager commented: "Since our entry into India in 2006, we have succeeded in taking part in many projects throughout India and we have established a prominent position in this emerging market.
"Based on the current relatively low cellular penetration of app. 27% and the country's large population rate, we consider India an important growth engine for our Company in the next few years. As the cellular penetration in India increases, new mobile operators are establishing operations there. We plan to leverage our expertise in this market into additional deals with new and existing operators throughout India. We expect that our activity level in India in 2008 will more than double compared to 2007 and will continue growing in 2009 and beyond. "
