
South Korea based WiMAX vendor, POSDATA says that it has signed a commercial contract with Airway communications for the largest BWA deployment to date in China. Under the deal, POSDATA will provide technology and product to support AirwayÃ's network and service expansion in Shandong Province, China.
Airway's WiMAX network is supporting the government, communities and other vertical applications. POSDATA is a global BWA system provider with products fully compliant to IEEE 802.16e.
"POSDATA has been actively deploying IEEE 802.16e based systems and terminals in South-Asian countries. With the supply contract with Airway, POSDATA has expanded its commercial reference to North-Asian continent and secured a firm position as a global BWA solution provider," said Mr. Byungchang Yoo, CEO of POSDATA.
FLYVO is the brand name for POSDATAÃ's mobile WiMAX business.
The company has previously signed deals to work with operators in Venezuela and Uzbekistan. Last year, five former employees of the company were jailed after being convicted of trying to sell company information to a US firm.
