"We know many business customers have been eagerly awaiting this day and will warmly welcome the introduction of the fastest mobile internet solution in Oman. With download speeds being up to seven times faster than currently available coupled with the fact that there are no waiting lists at Nawras, customers can reap the benefits of this service being not only fast to use but fast to get started too," said Hussain Al-Lawati, Nawras Head of Direct Sales."

Al-Lawati pointed out that customers do need to be in the 3G+ coverage areas to benefit from this high speed internet service and speeds can sometimes vary when many Nawras Internet users are active in the same area at the same time.

Oman currently has two mobile operators and according to figures from the Mobile World, Nawras ended the first quarter of this year with some 1.16 million customers. Of that base, it is estimated that just over 300,000 are already using the 3G network.
