Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS), has signed a contract with Venezuelan GSM operator, Corporación Digitel, for its Intec Interconnect solution suite. The solution includes interconnect billing, automated reconciliation and duplicate record detection, and is currently being installed.
“Digitel is committed to providing the best service possible for our clients and has been constantly expanding since its inception in 2006,” said Mariana García, Director of Interconnection and Roaming for Digitel. “By offering a shorter time to market for new, competitive services and comprehensive billing support for new revenue streams, Intec Interconnect will support Digitel’s goal to provide the best quality and service in the country. Intec Interconnect also has the scalability that Digitel, one of the fastest growing operators in Venezuela, needs to support its rapid expansion in the Venezuelan market.”
Digitel is the country's smallest operator and figures from the Mobile World database show that the operator ended last year with just under 4.9 million subscribers all on a GSM platform - representing a market share of 20.5%. The two other operators are CDMA operator, CANTV with some 9.5 million customers and Telcel with 9.4 million subscribers (5.8 m CDMA, 3.6m GSM).
