Kenya’s First Mobile Television Launched

APA-Nairobi (Kenya) Kenya’s leading and most profitable mobile telephony, Safaricom and television pay channel Digital Satellite Television (DSTV) on Tuesday launched the country’s first mobile television on the local market.

DSTV is MultiChoice’s multi-channel digital satellite TV service in Africa, based in South Africa.

Speaking in Nairobi on Tuesday at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of Safaricom, Michael Joseph said the services of the mobile television will be available only in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi and viewers will have access to 10 local and international channels.

He said the Mobile television will provide viewers in the country the latest news and entertainment.

Kenyans will be able to access the services through the DVB-H broadcast at a cost of 25,000 shillings, approximately 403 dollars.
