Nepal Telecom Selects Unified PrePay Top-Up Vouchers

Billing services provider, eServGlobal says that China's ZTE has selected its Top Up Suite eRetail and eVoucher solutions to provide prepaid mobile recharge and voucher management services to Nepal Telecom. eServGlobal's top-up product will provide unified recharging services to Nepal Telecom's GSM, CDMA as well as PSTN networks.

Nepal Telecom will use the eRetail and eVoucher solutions to provide voucher based recharge as well as electronic recharge for their customer base.

eServGlobal's eVoucher can unify all recharging methods, from any kind of channels using any type of funding, including voucher recharge codes, electronic funds, cash, bank accounts or credit cards. To eliminate voucher costs, eRetail enables service providers to manage and expand their distribution network efficiently.

The contract with Nepal Telecom is the first signed under a new global framework agreement with ZTE to deliver mobile recharge services.

"Nepal Telecom is preparing for rapid growth, particularly in the strong prepaid market", said Mr. Lok Raj Sharma, Director, Mobile Services Directorate. "We selected the ZTE/eServGlobal eRetail and eVoucher solution as its range of innovative features gives us the flexibility to provide many different recharge methods to suit our customer needs, and offers the scalability to support our future growth."

The project will commence immediately and will conclude by December 2008.

Nepal Telecom ended last year with 1.25 million customers, according to estimates from the Mobile World analysts. This is a market share of 63% in a country with a population penetration level of just under 7%. The sole other operator is Spice Nepal.
