A Greek taxi driver who found a mobile phone belonging to an actress left in his cab later tried to sell its contents to a tabloid newspaper after he found a sexual video clip on the handset. The 30 year old taxi driver allegedly called a magazine and tried to sell the footage to them - but the publication declined and warned the woman - an actress of the issue.
The actress then called the driver back pretending to be a reporter and arranged to meet him to purchase the video clip. An undercover policewoman was sent and the cabbie was arrested after accepting EUR1,500 (US$2,200) in cash for the phone. He had also copied the footage to his own phone.
The man told police he had resorted to blackmail due to "serious financial difficulties."
Police have not identified the actress involved.
