
Petros Lefkovits has been appointed as the new CEO of Cosmofon, Greek Cosmote's subsidiary in Macedonia. Mr. Stefanos Oktapodas who has been sharing the job at both Cosmofon and AMC, continues with his responsibilities in AMC, Cosmote's subsidiary in Albania.
Mr. Michael Tsamaz, Cosmote's Deputy CEO, thanked Mr. Oktapodas for his valuable contribution in Cosmofon's significant growth and wished him success in continuing to create value for AMC. Mr. Tsamaz also wished Mr. Lefkovits every success in his future duties.
Mr. Petros Lefkovits began his career in Coca Cola Group 3E UK. Later, he joined Reckitt & Colman, as Group Product Manager, as well as Germanos Group of Companies, heading its Mobile Business Unit. In 1996 he was appointed Commercial Director of Ericsson Hellas, while in 2001 he rejoined Germanos Group as Strategic Development Director. In August 2002, he assumed the position of CEO in Euroelectronics, Samsung mobile phone distributor, in Greece.
Cosmofon ended last September with just over 540,000 subscribers and a local market share of 34% according to figures from the Mobile World. The country itself has a population penetration level of 78%.
