New Boss for LG Mobile Phones in the USA

LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A. (LG Mobile Phones) has announced the appointment of Jeff Hwang as president. In his new position, Hwang will oversee all LG Mobile Phones' North American development, manufacturing and marketing efforts as well as strategic planning, carrier relationships and business development.

For the past year, Hwang led LG's mobile communication business for the Korean market. Previously, he served as senior vice president of marketing and product planning for LG Mobile Phones from 2003 until 2006 where he oversaw marketing intelligence, product management and marketing communications for the North American market.

"Since the beginning of my LG Electronics career, I have been thoroughly impressed with the products that this company produces across all areas, demonstrating a deep commitment to superior quality and customer satisfaction," said Hwang. "I look forward to overseeing LG Mobile Phones into our next phase of growth as we continue to develop innovative and appealing products for the mobile universe."

Hwang also has experience with LG Group Chairman's office. His contributions there earned him a promotion to head the marketing group of LG InfoComm Korea. As senior manager, Hwang successfully launched next-generation phones in Korea's advanced mobile handset market.

Prior to this, Hwang was promoted to LG Electronics in the U.K., where he played an integral role in the introduction of new consumer electronic products to the British market.

A veteran of the company, Hwang began his tenure with LG Electronics in 1987 with responsibility for managing exports of LG audio and video products.

As the top LG Mobile Phones executive in North America, Hwang succeeds Juno Cho, who has been named executive vice president for LG Corporation.
