Cosmote has announced that it has surpassed 3 million customers in Romania, having launched operations at the end of 2005. With its expanding market share and increasing demand for its products & services, the company continues on its successful financial course and is expected to be on target to reach positive EBITDA performance in 2008 and net profit in 2009.
Cosmote Romania CEO, Mr. Nikolaos Tsolas, said: "Exceeding 3 million customers in only 22 months is clear evidence the market's responsiveness to Cosmote Romania's competitive offerings and relevant mobile solutions. Leading the market's net new additions for three consecutive quarters is yet another testimony of the company's significant market appeal and growth momentum. Celebrating the 3 million customers threshold, and consistent to its commitment for active contribution to society, Cosmote Romania has partnered with the Romanian National Association for the Deaf (ANSR) to offer all its members 3 million in total free on-net text messages.
Cosmote Group has already exceeded 13.1 million customers and with a 28% regional market share, is targeting 15 million customers by the end of 2009.
