Venezuelan mobile operator Digitel has deployed a real-time billing solution provided by US billing and telecoms software solutions provider Comverse, the latter said in a statement.
Comverse's solution enables operators to provide a broad set of new subscriber services through real-time rating and charging, subscriber account management and billing for content, data and other value added services.
"Comverse's expansive reach in Latin America reflects the interest in our cost-effective solutions for service providers from various markets throughout the region," Comverse's Americas president Ramesh Barasia said.
"We believe that Comverse's real-time billing will significantly increase our customer acquisition and retention," Digitel systems VP Federico Santarelli said.
Digitel is the smallest of Venezuela's three mobile operators, with approximately 3.7mn subscribers.
