Tecore Wireless Systems says that it has deployed its mobile core and radio access network solution for Cordova Wireless, a wireless communications provider based in Cordova, Alaska. The complete GSM system utilizes Tecore's SoftMSC System and GSM BTS-4000RM all-IP enabled base stations with integrated BTS/BSC/TRAU/PCU to provide GSM services with enhanced roaming capabilities.
"Cordova is an important tourist and commercial port which brings a large number of cargo, cruise and leisure ships, fishing vessels and other traffic to the area. Our upgrade to Tecore's GSM system has enhanced our roaming capabilities which allow us to serve these additional customers and visitors," said Paul Kelly, General Manger of Cordova Wireless. "Tecore's GSM platform not only provides all of the functionality that we currently need, but it is designed to easily expand and grow with us as our network and service offerings grow. In fact, we are in the planning stages now to add Tecore's FarSite product to our network as we have identified several coastal sites that can benefit from the extended range capability it offers."
