Subex Azure has won a contract to provide Fraud Management (FM) and Revenue Assurance (RA) solutions for Global Vision Telecom (GVT) in Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to be deployed in its Prestel and U-COM Congo CDMA networks. Telecel International, which is managing the investments for Global Vision Telecom recommended Global Vision Telecom to acquire the Fraud Management and Revenue Assurance systems.
After acquiring new mobile and unified licenses in DRC and Nigeria respectively, Global Vision Telecom was concerned about the high risks of fraud prevalent in the African telecoms market. It wanted to put a strategy in place to prevent network abuse for its growing subscriber bases, and validate its processes and ability to charge accurately from day one in these new regions.
Subex Azure will be deploying both its Nikira Fraud Management System and its Moneta Revenue Assurance System. Using rules-based alarms and artificial-intelligence driven pattern matching to identify likely fraudulent usage, Nikira enables operators to detect known fraud types and patterns of unusual behaviour in all telecoms environments. Moneta is a suite of automated revenue assurance tools and capabilities. Moneta offers a set of pre-configured solution templates to address revenue assurance issues across areas such as service fulfilment, usage integrity, retail billing, interconnect/ wholesale billing and content settlement.
Sudeesh Yezhuvath, COO of Subex Azure Ltd, said, "We are pleased to be helping Global Vision Telecom grow and move successfully into these regions. Our business understanding of the African telecommunications market and proven solutions were key factors in winning this contract."
