
China's Qiao Xing Mobile has announced the launch of a wrist-watch mobile phone, the W100. The "handset" comes with a 65k TFT-LCD touch screen and 1GB T-flash extendable memory built in. A 1.3 megapixel camera inside the wrist-watch is also available - although aiming the camera might be a challenge.
Qiao Xing Mobile says that the phone will appear in stores in mid-September, and the Company plans to introduce TV infomercials to help market and sell the product.
According to Mr. Wu Zhi Yang, Chairman of Qiao Xing Mobile, "We are extremely excited by this product, which represents the culmination of many months of hard work and the close and successful collaboration among our marketing, sales and product development teams. Given the truly unique features of this phone, we think it will not only see favorable reception in the market, but we also believe that it could help enhance the overall recognition of our brand in China."
While the company did not specify if it would work on GSM or CDMA systems, Qiao Xing Mobile is almost exclusively a GSM handset developer.
