Chilean corporate ratings agency Humphreys has affirmed its AA+ rating on a planned bond issue in Chile for up to US$1.70bn by Mexican mobile holding América Móvil, Humphreys said in a statement.
The outlook is stable. A date for the bond issue has not yet been issued.
The rating reflects América Móvil's strong regional presence, which provides the telco with diversified revenue streams from various countries throughout Latin America, Humphreys said.
Additionally, the company's conservative debt policies, matched by its positive growth expectations in the Latin American mobile market should continue to strengthen the company's position.
América Móvil has both fixed line and mobile operations in 14 countries. In 2006, the company posted profits of 43.4bn pesos (US$3.96bn) and ended the year with 125mn subscribers."
