Personal, the mobile unit of Argentine telecoms operator Telecom Argentina, has reached a roaming agreement with Falkland Islands' operator Cable & Wireless, TEO said in a statement.
Personal becomes the first Argentine operator to provide roaming with the self-governing UK territory.
Personal ended the first quarter of 2007 with 9.31mn subscribers, up 47% compared to the same time last year. Some 68% of users were prepaid clients and 91% of clients use Personal's GSM platform with the remainder using CDMA."
