The test systems provider, ZK Celltest says that it has added iDEN capability to the full range of ZK-SAM cellular field measurement and network optimization products.
While iDEN is a mature technology, however few drive test companies offer a solution that is incorporated into their main tools and would allow operators to make side-by-side network coverage comparisons. Now, with the addition of iDEN capability to ZK's products, iDEN and CDMA networks can be analyzed and compared using the same drive test tool.
We presume it is no coincidence that Sprint Nextel runs a CDMA and iDEN network.
The iDEN solution is also available on the ZK RMS (Real-time Monitoring System), making it the only autonomous solution that now has iDEN capability. The ZK RMS system consists of mobile units installed in taxis, buses or delivery vehicles that collect data while the vehicles make their rounds. Data is logged and transmitted real time to a central server where it is collated, formatted and presented for use by the operator via secure internet portals.
"The iDEN systems in use world wide are very popular due to the push to talk (PTT) capability. Giving operators the ability to compare these networks with others provides an invaluable service to ZK customers," states Rich Miletic, CEO of ZK Celltest."
