Kodiak Networks says that Cellular One from Dobson Cellular Systems has commercially launched a Kodiak-enabled Push to Talk (PTT) across the state of Alaska.
With this wireless service, Cellular One is introducing instant voice and group communications services based upon the Kodiak Real-Time Exchange (RTX) platform.
"The unique environment of Alaska provides an excellent proving ground for next-generation PTT and will enable people in many industries including oil, fishing, forestry, construction, utilities, and public safety to have reliable, statewide instant voice and group communications services," said F. Craig Farrill, President and CEO of Kodiak Networks.
Cellular One, a trade name of Oklahoma City-based Dobson Communications, is the largest wireless provider in Alaska."
