Personal, the mobile unit of Telecom Argentina, has launched an SMS service aimed specifically at the agribusiness sector, newspaper Infobae reported.
The service will enable farmers to receive information through their mobile devices regarding regional events, conferences, seminars, grain prices and other information related to the sector.
Last December, Personal and local grain cooperative Compañía Argentina de Granos signed an agreement to provide nearly 4,000 grain farmers with BlackBerry devices.
The device includes a special appliance especially developed by Personal for the agribusiness segment, allowing producers to check grain prices, monitor machinery movements on their land and receive sanitary alerts, among other services."
