
KIEV, Feb 21 (Prime-Tass) -- The revenue of Ukrainian mobile operators from Internet and data transfer services soared 85% on the year to US$110 million in 2006, according to research by Russian analytical agency iKS-Consulting.
Of that figure, revenue from Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) accounted for 81%, or $90 million.
In December, 6.8 million mobile users, or about 14% of the country?s subscriber base, used WAP at least once, the agency said.
As of December, more than 50,000 WAP sites were available in Ukraine, of which just 3% were Ukraine-based.
