Brightpoint Secures Windows Mobile Distribution Deal

The distribution firm, Brightpoint has announced that its subsidiary Brightpoint North America has signed an agreement with High Tech Computer (HTC) to distribute HTC GSM devices. The agreement permits Brightpoint to serve as the sole authorized distributor for HTC's Microsoft Windows Mobile-based GSM devices and related accessories to regional carriers, mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and their respective independent dealers, value-added resellers (VARs), and retailers in the United States and Canada.

Mitch Black, senior vice president of sales & distribution for Brightpoint, stated "Brightpoint is excited to expand its relationship with HTC and add HTC's innovative Windows Mobile(R)-based GSM wireless devices to our channels in North America. HTC has a long tradition of designing and building durable, reliable, and versatile devices, and Brightpoint's affiliates have distributed HTC devices in various European markets for several years. This growing relationship with HTC is a significant key to our overall Smartphone strategy."
