
MOSCOW, Oct 30 (Prime-Tass) -- Sales of smartphones in Russia are expected to amount to 2 million units in 2007, J'son & Partners consultancy said in research obtained by Prime-Tass Monday.
The consultancy earlier projected 2006 smartphone sales at 1.2 million units.
In January-June smartphone sales in Russia amounted to 505,000 units, or U.S. $200 million, the consultancy said earlier.
J'son & Partners expects that smartphones will account for 5% of total mobile handset sales in 2007, up from 3% in January-June, the consultancy said.
J'son & Partners defines a smartphone as a multi-functional device working with operational systems Symbian (Version 6.0 and above), Windows (versions for portable devices), Palm OS and Linux.
