Huawei Wins Nigerian CDMA Contract

Huawei has won a contract from the Nigerian CDMA operator, Multi-Links to deploy its BTS and core network softswitch and install a CDMA2000 1X network in Lagos, Abuja, PHC, Kano, Ibadan, and Kaduna. Multi-Links is one of the four local phone operators in Nigeria which was awarded unified licenses in May 2006 by the National Communications Commission, Nigeria's telecoms regulator.

Mr. A.V. Rao, CTO of Multi-Links, commented that, "Only the best partners from across the world have been solicited. We are confident that Huawei can meet our requirements and help us deploy secure, reliable networking and improve our competitive position in the marketplace."
