Phone Vigilante Attacking Motor Cars

A UK vigilante has been attacking cars where they claim the driver has been seen driving while using a mobile phone. The attacker - nicknamed The Mobile Slasher slices the motor car tires and leaves a note on the car windscreens reading "Warning. You have been seen driving while using your mobile phone."

Police are investigating the attacks, which have happened at night around Hampshire. So far 20 motorists have reported similar attacks.

One victim, Rebecca Rendle, of Gosport, had her tires slashed - even though she says she doesn't even own a mobile phone.

Inspector Kevin Cuffe said: "In most of the cases a note has been left at the scene, and forensic specialists are in the process of examining these to gather potential evidence. Whoever is doing this may feel that he or she has some sort of justification but there is never any excuse to vandalise the property of others and we will investigate these incidents fully."
