JOHANNESBURG -(Dow Jones)- South African telecommunications company MTN Group, Tuesday said it has appointed Ahmad Farroukh as chief executive officer for its Nigerian operations.
Farroukh takes over from Sifiso Dabengwa, chief operating officer of the MTN Group, who was deployed to Nigeria in August 2004 to head the operation on a medium-term contract. Dabengwa will now focus on his responsibility as MTN Group chief operating officer, in light of the company having to integrate 10 new operations from Investcom.
