Telenor Pakistan Upgrades Billing Platform

Azure Solutions has announced that Telenor Pakistan is to implement it's Interconnect billing platform, Version 9 for its GSM services. In addition, Telenor Pakistan will be upgrading its existing Azure Interconnect system for its long distance international (LDI) services.

Telenor acquired a license for providing GSM services in Pakistan in April 2004 and commercially launched services in Islamabad, Rawlpindi and Karachi in March 2005. Its GSM mobile network is now available in 286 destinations and is the fastest growing network in Pakistan. Such has been the rapid growth of the network that Telenor required an effective interconnect billing solution.

Azure Interconnect version 9.0 allows operators to analyse call data, bill more accurately and verify interconnect traffic between themselves and other network partners. Combining proven high-volume carrier grade functionality with rich features and next-generation settlement functions, Azure Interconnect version 9.0 provides operators with a flexible and effective platform to manage complex interconnect agreements.

Azure recently announced that it is to merge with Subex Systems to create Subex Azure Limited, the world's largest vendor in the telecoms revenue maximisation market. The merger is due to be completed in June 2006."
