Sprint Nextel and Walt Disney's ABC Owned Television Stations Group agreed to relocate spectrum use, allowing Sprint to offer commercial mobile radio services over a portion of the 2-gigahertz band.
Sprint, a Reston, Va., telecommunications company will pay for ABC's relocation expenses, including the acquisition of comparable equipment to operate in new frequencies.
Under a Federal Communications Commission order, 2-GHz broadcast auxiliary service licensees, such as the ABC-owned stations, must relocate to new spectrum assignments by September 2007.
