MOSCOW -(Dow Jones)- Ericsson and Ukraine's largest mobile phone operator Kyivstar Tuesday said they have signed a three-year agreement to expand services networks in Ukraine.
Under the agreement, Ericsson will provide equipment and technologies such as Global System for Mobile Communications, General Packet Radio System and Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution.
The value and the terms of the contract weren't disclosed.
Ericsson's new equipment will help Kyivstar make the transition to third-generation technology when such licenses become available.
Ericsson already supplies equipment to a smaller Ukrainian operator URS, which shares the same shareholders as Kyivstar - Norway's Telenor and Russia's Alfa Group.
