Tele2 Launches New Short-term Mobile Contract

STOCKHOLM (Dow Jones)--Swedish mobile phone operator Tele2 AB (TLTOB) Friday said it would launch a new, short-term mobile telephone contract.

Tele2 said the new contract, called Comviq Kompis Plus, will allow customers to call other Tele2 customers free of charge. Calls to other networks will cost SEK0.99 a minute with a monthly standing charge of SEK99.

Tele2 said the new package follows a successful launch of Comviq Knock-Out subscription at the end of 2004. Comviq Knock-Out also features only a short-term contract.

Tele2 said customers are increasingly asking for contracts without long-term commitment and without high-priced mobile phones attached.
