TeliaSonera Returns Extra 3G License In Denmark

STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- Nordic telecommunications operator TeliaSonera AB (TLSN.SK) Friday said it will return Orange's third-generation network license to the Danish regulatory authority and pay a statutory sum of DKK213 million that the returning of the license will cost, corresponding to three annual payments of DKK71 million.

On Oct. 11, 2004, TeliaSonera closed a deal by which it acquired Orange Denmark from France Telecom (FTE).

In connection with this, and according to the provisional terms and conditions set by the Danish regulatory authority Information Technology - og Telestyrelsen, TeliaSonera received the 3G license of Orange Denmark.

TeliaSonera said it will now return Orange's 3G license to the Danish regulatory authority.

The company said the sum of DKK213 million will be reported in TeliaSonera's fourth quarter 2004 results as a non-recurring integration expense related to the merger with Orange in Denmark.
