Poland's largest mobile network operator, Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa, operator of the Era & Heyah networks, has upgraded its entire mobile network with Tellabs equipment to provide superior voice quality. By deploying the Tellabs 3100 voice-quality enhancement (VQE) system, Era can deliver consistently high-quality mobile services to its customers throughout Poland.
Tellabs has recently seen a growing interest in its VQE products among mobile service providers who want their end-users to be highly satisfied with call quality. In today's competitive market, operators must ensure that voice quality remains high as they rapidly increase their subscriber base and migrate from 2G to the new-generation mobile technologies. Tellabs' VQE solution is a key differentiator, which helps service providers keep pace with the demand that subscriber growth rates place on their network.
"As more users sign up for mobile services and expect mobile voice quality to match that of wireline quality, the reduction of disturbing acoustic echo becomes even more important to keep them talking," said Patrick Dolan, vice president and general manager for sales in Tellabs' Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. "Higher call quality lengthens call hold time and consequently the Tellabs VQE technology directly helps to increase revenue per user."
