On 10 March, TeliaSonera Sweden will be reduceing the prices of its Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) by close to 25%, from US$0.51 to US$0.39 per message. The new price applies not only to MMS messages sent to other Telia subscriptions, but also to other operators. In 2003, TeliaSonera Sweden's customers sent over 2.3 million MMS messages.
The new price applies to all Telia's private and business customers in Sweden, and to all mobile subscriptions, including prepaid subscriptions. On 20 February, Telia introduced free MMS messaging during the weekends. The campaign runs until 2 may 2004, and until then Telia's customers will be sending MMS messages free of charge on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
