Holiday Videos for Malaysian Cellphones

Malaysia's Maxis Communications has introduced festive video greetings via Multimedia Messaging Service ("MMS") for the upcoming holiday season. The latest in the range of Maxis' mobile data services, the festive MMS video greetings allow Maxis customers to send moving pictures and true sound quality video greeting cards, similar to e-cards quality, to their friends and family, locally and internationally to Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

Maxis' Head of Marketing and Product Management, Mr Chee Pok Jin said, "This is part of our continuous effort to offer relevant services to encourage customer take-up with the ultimate aim to encourage customers to trial and adopt more sophisticated data services".

"Beginning middle of this year, Maxis was the first to introduce picture messaging via MMS nationwide and later on internationally starting with Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. Maxis then introduced video messaging allowing moving pictures with sound. We are now taking the next step forward in allowing our customers to send festive video greeting cards," Chee added.

"Approximately 60,000 of our customers have used MMS since July, and we look forward to see more adopt MMS with this new service, especially as we are going to roll-out birthdays and get well soon video greetings. Coming our customers' way soon would be more exciting and attention-grabbing video services," he added.

Today, customers can enjoy up to 1 Megabyte GPRS data usage for FREE, equivalent of 10 greeting cards altogether, until year-end. Customers can download the festive video greetings and video clips with their mobile phones namely Maxis Powered GX27, Nokia 3650 and 7650 and the Sony Ericsson P800."
