Ray-Ban partners with Google Glass for New Sunglasses

Note -- this news article is more than a year old.
The company behind the Ray Ban range of sunglasses has announced a collaboration with Google to develop Google Glass based eyeglasses.
The agreement sees Luxottica and Google establishing a team of experts devoted to working on the design, development, tooling and engineering of Glass products that, as they put it: "straddle the line between high-fashion, lifestyle and innovative technology".
Luxottica added that the two major proprietary brands of the Group, Ray-Ban and Oakley who has a 10-year heritage in wearable technology that has evolved from MP3 to HUD devices, will be a part of the collaboration with Glass.
However, apart from the usual platitudes, no actual details, timelines or anything was presented by either company.
The move is though expected to be a boost for Google, which is famously a company driven by engineers, not designers, and the Google Glass product has looked somewhat lacking in style for a pair of glasses that are often more a fashion statement than a practical tool for eyesight.
