Amazon has expanded its own mobile ad network to include support for in app adverts within Apple apps.
The ad network had so-far only supported in-app advertising for Android apps, as that is also the core of its own app store. The company also said that it will add support for its own Fire phone later this week.
With the latest update, Amazon is also expanding ad serving to users in Spain and Italy across Android and iOS, in addition to the existing countries - USA, the UK, Germany, and France.
Just like Android and Fire OS, there are a number of targeting options that app developers can include in the requests they send to the Amazon Mobile Ad Network. In addition to ad unit size, they can specify geolocation (USA only), age and gender.
"Amazon Mobile Ads API is consistently delivering 20% higher eCPM on both Android and iOS platforms compared to other ad networks. In addition to increased earnings, the high-quality tailored ads provides an engaging experience for our users achieving 25% higher CTR." - Tim Oswald, Co-Founder & CEO of Harpan LLC.
In order to encourage app developers to support their service, the company is offering a guaranteed US$6 per thousand ads served as intersital adverts, upto a million impressions per month.
