Instagram to Expand Mobile Advertising to More Countries

Facebook's photo sharing subsidiary, Instagram is to expand its advertising services to reach users in Australia, Canada and the UK.
The mostly mobile service already serves adverts in the USA, and Facebook has been under some pressure to increase revenues to justify the billion dollar price tag it paid for the photo service.
"We are committed to learning as much as we can while building Instagram as a sustainable business," the company said in a statement.
Instagram is said to have around 200 million users globally, but only 35 million are in the USA were revenue generating adverts are currently served.
Even there the company has been careful with its advertising, choosing only a few selected partners. It needs to generate an income, but also ensure that fickle youth audience don't switch to a rival platform if they feel the advertising is too agressive.
