Google Now for Android Gets Out of Coverage Upgrade

Google has announced a modest, but useful upgrade for its Google Now app for Android smartphones.
Google Now, the appointments reminder service now works without mobile phone coverage.
It can't update, but rather than simply displaying a blank page warning of no phone signal, it now displays the most recent set of information from the last time it was updated.
Naturally, a warning message that newer updates aren't available until the user returns to phone coverage warns them that the information might be out of date.
However, it resolves a major complaint about the service, that people on the way to meetings might not always be able to recheck the details unless they also had phone signal coverage.
Users need to download the latest version of the Google Search app to access the upgrade.
