Popular OTT messaging platform, Snapchat has introduced instant messaging and video calls to its privacy centric service.
As with normal messages, the chats and video calls wont be stored on the handset, and content is deleted when the messaging session ends.
A post on the app's blog reads: "There's nothing like knowing you have the full attention of your friend while you're chatting."
The blog post added that if both users are in a chat, the app will allow users to chat face-to-face.
Although the service claims to offer more privacy than others, there is still nothing stopping a message recipient taking a screenshot of it using another app before Snapchat deletes the message.
