Twitter Adds More Photos and Tagging

Published on:

Social networking service Twitter has changed how users can send photos through its platform.

Before, users were limited to embedding one photo into a message, but can now upload up to four images that will be displayed inline within Tweets where supported by Twitter apps.

The company has also introduced an option to tag photos with the names of up to 10 other Twitter users.

Twitter said that it is aiming to make its service "more social", although it is more about increasing the sharing of content so that more people are aware that photos are being uploaded, and will spread them amongst their friends.

More sharing means more usage, and more chance to sell advertising to the users.

The changes are currently only available to users of the Twitter app on iPhone, but Android users will get the update shortly. No details on when the website will follow though.
