A recent poll by a SIM only contract comparison website in the UK has revealed Britons' loyalties to their network providers, with Vodafone customers identified as the most devoted to their mobile network provider, with the average Vodafone customer using the network consecutively for 6 years and 3 months.
When asked 'What network are you currently using?' the majority, 37%, stated they were using 'EE/Orange/T Mobile. The remaining respondents stated they were using 'Vodafone' (19%), O2 (12%) and 3 (7%) respectively.
The survey then aimed to uncover how long respondents had been with their current network in order to determine which network had the most loyal users, bearing in mind the average contract is between 18 months and 24 months.
So, when asked 'How long have you been with your current network provider?', the averages were generated from all responses and the results were as follows;
- Vodafone - 6 years and 3 months
- EE/Orange/T Mobile - 4 years and 11 months
- O2 - 3 years and 1 month
- 3 - 1 year and 3 months
With Vodafone having the most loyal customers, the poll wanted to delve a
little deeper and determine why this was the case. All respondents who had
previously been on a different network were asked why they moved to Vodafone,
with 41% claiming it was due to Vodafone providing great network coverage. 28%
simply said the network had been recommended by family or friends, whilst 21%
said it was due to a reputation for good customer service.
According to the poll, out of all respondents who are currently using Vodafone, 55% of users wouldn't look around at other networks and if they were to get a new phone or contract, they would prefer to stay with Vodafone. A third of Vodafone customers, 33%, stated they'd 'shop around, but most likely stay with Vodafone'.
