The Saudi telecoms regulator is to issue a fresh tender for the country's third MVNO license after apparently canceling the one it issued to Axiom Telecom last year.
Axiom Telecom had a provisional license to offer services over the Zain network, but has been quiet ever since it won the license.
Axiom said that it had been unable to submit a specific document in time before the regulator cancelled its licenser, but would be bidding again in the new tender process.
The two other license holders, Lebara Mobile and Virgin Media have both announced their launch plans, and expect to offer services from this June.
Last time the country tendered for the MVNO licenses, there were five bidders, and thr two that lost at that time were FastNet and the Safari Consortium.
