China Mobile has removed Apple's official brand slogan for its latest iPhones following a lawsuit accusing it of breaching advertising legislation.
The slogan, "The only thing that's changed is everything" was removed from the China Mobile website after a Chinese court agreed to hear the lawsuit, which was filed by a lawyer, surnamed He.
The heart of the issue is that a new law passed in September forbids expressions such as "the most" or "the best" when describing products and services.
The lawsuit argues that both the words "only" and "everything" in the seven-word-long slogan violated the new law.
According to Sina News the slogan remains on Apple's own website selling iPhones in China, although the lawyer said that he plans to add them to the lawsuit as well.
