Teenage Girl Gets Trapped in a Drain Trying to Retrieve Her Phone

A teenage girl who dropped her phone down a drain in the street then climbed in to try and retrieve it and got stuck.

The girl,16-year-old Ella Birchenough dropped her Apple iPhone down the storm drain in Dover, UK, and somehow managed to lift off the cover and climb down into the drain.

However, in front of a growing crowd of onlookers, the girl appeared to have got stuck, and the local fire brigade were called to rescue her.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed that a fire engine was sent to deal with the incident at around 7.15pm.

A statement on the fire brigade website read "A teenage girl was released by firefighters from a storm drain where she had become stuck in Eaves Road, Dover."

"Crews then made the scene safe. The girl was uninjured."
