Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has named Perley McBride as its mew Chief Financial Officer.
He replaces Tim Pennington who announced his resignation from the company in February, apparently because the firm was shifting its offices from London to Miami.
As hi9s replacement, Mr McBride has extensive experience in the US telecom and technology sector. Until recently he was Chief Financial Officer of Leap Wireless. Prior to that he led the finance and strategy functions at The Weather Company and earlier in his career he held senior finance positions at Frontier Communications and Sprint.
As CFO, Mr McBride will join the CWC Board of Directors, and lead the Group finance, audit, corporate finance, tax, treasury and investor relations teams.
Perley McBride, incoming Chief Financial Officer, commented: "CWC is entering a new phase, with a new operating hub in Miami, a major investment plan and clear strategy to deliver growth. It has a strong financial position and excellent opportunities in several emerging and underpenetrated markets. I'm delighted to be joining the business at this time, and look forward to working with Phil and the team."
