Apple's long rumoured move into wearable technologies have received a boost with reports of several key staff hirings.
Citing a review of their LinkedIn profiles, the Telegraph newspaper noticed that six prominent medical experts have been hired by Apple in the past year.
Two sources familiar with the hirings confirmed that Apple is concentrating on hiring people with medical and hardware expertise.
Apple has long been expected to launch its own smartwatch device, and built in medical tracking is expected to be one of its key selling points, if the long-rumoured device ever reaches the shops.
In other rumours, Apple was recently suggested to be working on headphones that would work with its existing range of consumer electronics, and be able to track things such as heartbeat and temperature.
