Australia's Telstra has suffered its second network outage in less than a week, and third outage in two months.
The latest failure lasted around an hour and some three percent of the customer base. Telstra said that the outage was caused by a card failure in a media gateway in Victoria.
"While small, we appreciate the impact this outage had on the customers affected, and we apologise to them." a spokesman said.
The main areas affected were in Victoria and Tasmania, with "some impact elsewhere".
Vodafone, which suffered its own reliability problems a few years ago was swift to respond -- offering a months free service to any customer wanting to switch service provider.
