India's largest tower operating company, Indus Towers expects to deploy around 2,000 towers per year over the next few years to meet demand from its mobile network operator tenants.
The company has averaged 1,000 towers per year for the past couple of years.
It may do that organically through its own deployment, but may also consider acquisitions, the company's CEO, BS Shantharaju told the Economic Times newspaper.
"The industry is looking up now. We are open to working with everybody," said BS Shantharaju.
Indus Towers is a joint venture between Bharti Airtel (42%), Vodafone India (42%) and Idea Cellular (16%).
