Globul and Huawei Start Network Swap Project

Bulgaria's Globul says that it has completed the pilot phase of its network swap project by fully replacing and upgrading its equipment in Pernik and Pazardzhik.

Works commenced on April 24 in Pernik and were completed on schedule on May 16 in Pazardzhik.

Huawei is the project partner for the network swap.

The pilot network swap projects in Pernik and Pazardzhik were the initial phase of the major project for renovation of Globul's entire 2G and 3G network, the access and backbone transport network as well as the core network and the related services which is to be completed by the end of first half of 2015.

The project will continue in Varna where swap activities will begin mid of June and shall be completed by end of the month.
