Sprint Inks Major Music Sharing Deal with Spotify

USA based Sprint has announced a raft of new services aimed at music fans, including a special handset and a discount on the Spotify music streaming service.
Sprint will offer six months free of Spotify Premium for all new and existing postpaid Sprint customers who are on a Sprint Framily plan and have an Android smartphone, iPhone, Windows 8/8.1 smartphone.
After the six months, the service reverts to the ad-funded free version, or users can pay a monthly fee to keep the Premium service. A discounted model is being offered that will see the US$9/99 monthly fee reduced to US$7.99 for 18 months.
"With Spotify, people literally have all of the world's music in their pockets," said Daniel Ek, Spotify founder and CEO, who described the new service as the "best music deal ever for Sprint customers."
In related news Sprint will offer a customised version of HTC's One M8 smartphone, which it says has been modified to include improved sound performance and lossless HD audio playback.
